Well, this is/was my final day. I say that because again, I write this as I think of it. It feels like it’s been more than just five days, especially since I made so much progress. In fact, my friend lost several days in his internal calendar. He thought today was Thursday. Heheh.

Something I’m kind of angry about at the moment is spambots. I’ve had 11 spambots take on this blog now. Not quite sure where I picked those up, but I hope they go away. <_<

But yeah.. I’ve made a lot of progress in these short four days (’cause I missed playing the first day!).
I’ve made over 8mil total, though I’ve spent all of it.
I made it to level 30 and capped Hunter.
I have three copies of the second-best armor in the game.
I have a damn 36% Dagger of Serafi. (Already broken at 0/9, but I’m not complaining, it was only 1mil!)
I have the three most important Resist units + a Vijeri/Rainbow.
In short, I am awesome. This must be what Endellion felt like.

I actually never had a Dagger of Serafi before. I’ve had Halp Serafis, but not the twin daggers. I’m glad I can have these now. :) Though I’m sad that I won’t get to use them for a very long time, since the first class I’ll be leveling after I get out of the beginner classes is Fortefighter. (For efficiency, you see. I still won’t quite have my feet on the ground, so playing what my race is best at will be the best thing to do.)

I’m really not sure what to invest in next, though. I don’t know what weapons I what to buy, really.. since I’m not even out of the beginner classes yet! A lot of the units, I wouldn’t buy even on my US account. (Luckily, I can hunt them when I’m high enough level now. They’re part of free missions~ Yay!) I’m pretty much done with armor, and materials have always been considered a waste in my mind. I could buy the clothes for my E2 characters.. or maybe work on furnishing my rooms. But those two things sound like wastes of meseta now! :( I feel like I should save up for when I get out of the beginner classes… yes, that is what I will do. (Edit: Scratch that, I’m buying some Grand Crosses! There may be better twin sabers, but those are my favorite. The higher-level ones can suck it.)

There’s actually a lot of things I need to invest in. Weapons, PM devices, nanotransers, PAs… I can make due with the newbie weapons or whatever I find, so I guess weapons are actually lower priority. PM devices and PAs are first on the list. Then maybe splurge and get the room tickets… Just the tickets! *swt* … It feels like there is an angry NPC of myself standing in front of all these things to do, glaring and saying “You can do that later! Work on what’s important first!” and then forcing me to turn around… eeee….

Oh! When I sign on again with the subscription, I’ll be able to feed my PM again.. which means it’ll be battle-ready! It’s already pretty high, and the next feed should push it past 80. I just can’t fit another feed in before my trial runs out. Ahhh, that sounds so great. Too bad I have to train it up to battle stat 30 before I can change it to my lovely 470 again. (Doesn’t Armor mean 440? Ughh, she’s so useless!) At least I’ll be getting an early start on that, though! I mean, my old one was only battle stat 40 or something since I made it so late in the game.

So anyway.. I’ll have to quit soon. I didn’t really get to meet anyone, but like I said before, that’s okay. I would only have to leave them now anyway. I hope that I’ll meet plenty of people when I can play for real. Hopefully not many mean people, too.. I’m still very scared that for some reason, these players will just hate me upon sight. T_T I don’t have any reason to believe that that will happen, but I’m still so scareddd.. *sob*

I’ll be returning to the US servers to write down all the menu screens just in case I forget them, as well to show off to my friends how the game really is. (I showed them my spamming of Scarred Planet last night. That’s not how the game is!) Also to take pictures of all my room layouts.. since I may forget that, too. :( That reminds me. I wonder if I’ll ever be able to get my statues back. The event ones of the Sega characters. I had each of them… (I had to buy the Tails one, actually. I missed Sidekick Saturday.) When I have nothing better to spend my meseta on, I’ll buy them back, I guess.
Question arose in my mind: Did anyone.. feed their statues to their PMs..? O_O; That’d be so sad.

So, if anyone’s interested, we can meet up on the US servers or something– though I really don’t feel like “playing”, since it’d be a lost cause. I guess I could go for a Time Attack or something, though I’m really no good at it. It’d be nice to have my name on the boards as a “last hurrah”…

I plan to do a photo-op with all my US server characters, though. Make it into a wallpaper. A kind of “Goodbye” picture.. I’ll really miss it all. (Again, I’ll be posting a farewell page later on.) But then! When I can play on the JP servers for real, I also plan to do another photo session for a “Hello” picture! (But because of that “surprise” Sega apparently has planned for us, it might be pretty short-lived. What if it’s another PS game that I can play? Of course I’ll probably leave PSU behind since it’ll be dying from that moment.)

Hum. I should also split the status pages into E1 and E2… since the one thing I definitely cannot transfer between them (locked shop with 1 meseta items, cardboard boxes, or getting a friend to help…) are PA discs, and that’s just way too much for one page to handle. So I’ll do that after posting this.

Not really much else to say, really! As I write this paragraph, my trial just ended. I ended epicly! I got one last mission in, sold what I needed, and put everything where it needed to be…. and right as I put the last thing in, it booted me. Hahah! I had to grin, it felt nice.

I forgot to publish yesterday’s page until I woke up. Oops! Well, the date still matches since my sleeping schedule is so messed up. (Edit: And then I did the same thing with this one!)

I got my E1 characters one set of clothes each, so they don’t look like nerds anymore. I didn’t have enough for my E2 characters, so I’m going to ignore them. I just realized how close to the end I really am, so I’m definitely only spending on my PM’s food now! It’s very important now, everything else can wait. I could probably buy enough food to max it out at 100 with just 500k… But I’m not aiming for 100 exactly, just 80 so far!

Oh, I also got my first free mission. At lv26! Hahah. It took me several levels after they were released on the US servers to get one.. :( Like seriously 30+ levels on multiple characters, and I was already pretty high. Huuu.

I also decided to try to ride the economy. I bought a shop and started selling photons for some pretty high prices, though they should still be the top of the list. (Ugh, Ray-photons are still so worthless from the ice event! I wish I could buy them all for when their prices turn around again! T_T Alas, I have not the money to spend on making more money aside from my shop.) I hope this gets me some more money before my trial ends. I really want to get my PM to 80, or at least buy enough food for it to get to 80 before the trial ends.

Huuu!!! Most of them just sold right now!! My first three sales (just checked the visitor log..) netted me 456,400 meseta! Big thanks to kanariya, ミトコ, and アスミィ!! You have helped me very much by buying my photons! (It’s not like I need them for a long time anyway.. I never synth unless it’s uber rare. I won’t be finding those kinds of boards or materials for a long time.)
I can’t feed my PM anymore for now, but I’ve got the exact number of yukatas that I need to get it to 100. I won’t be able to feed all of these to it by the time my trial ends. :< Boohoo.
It’s a good day when you can jam hundreds of metal yukatas down a spherical robot’s throat.

Oh! I’ve gotten a lot more chocolates since I started hunting them. I’m very happy about that, because I did dare to sell one for a hefty price, and it actually sold! I’m so happy! I bought a 30% ground Serafi-senba with what I got off of it. I’m selling two more for a bigger price since it went up again, with which I’ll be able to buy two more that I’m looking at… fire and dark, since the other elements don’t hit quite as hard. I wonder what to buy after that! ’cause if these two chocolates sell, I’ll still have quite a bit left over. I don’t feel like buying something I can find myself, so I don’t want to buy the units… And I don’t think that’s quite enough to re-buy any of my weapons. So I guess I’ll just save up.

There’s been sudden lag spikes for me, but only when I’m in my room. Just suddenly, withdrawing/depositing items takes forever… (While putting these yukatas away, for example!) I wonder if it has to do with me being so far away from the servers. The distance between Japan and America is huge, after-all. I can’t complain!

Oh. Something I very much like is how you can have multiple stacks of things in the bank without having to gift-wrap them! I’ve been saving up support items since I don’t need them on this mission. It’ll definitely be helpful when events come around..

Also something I’ve noticed is the containers in Scarred Planet… they’re all over five feet tall!! I made sure my main was 5′2″ with a scale.. and the boxes are almost as tall as her! O_O Why do they need to be that big?!

Something I’d like to mention is that I mostly write the paragraphs of this as I think of them. It’s a perk of playing on the PC, and I never play full-screen.. I’m a lazy workaholic. If that makes sense.

So my time in PSUJP is going to take a pause pretty soon. I’m almost kind of sad, but not really, ’cause I’ll have a better time when I’m playing seriously. I’ll be able to attempt to socialize! Yay!

I’ve actually been grinding one mission over and over. One that isn’t very useful, but very nostalgic now that I think about it. I’m only grinding it for the rappies, ’cause I want to try and get a Valentines Chocolate… I hear it drops from all level Rappy Amures. So far, I’ve gotten some BT Lovers (Dammit, and I just bought a few of them not long ago ’cause I didn’t think I’d be hunting Rappies.), some Rappy Feathers (Aren’t they used for trading material now? I’ll find a use for them anyway.), and right after I started writing this, two Valentine Chocolates in a row. Yay! I want more, though! I’ll keep going!

Anyway, the reason it’s nostalgic… When I had gotten comfortable on the US servers, before they even had all the classes put in (We only had the three basic ones!), I decided that I wanted to cap all the basic classes in preparation for the new ones being added. (I really wanted to be a Wartecher!) The mission I grinded? Was it Plains Overlord?! No! It took far too long and I was already very bored of it. I went for Valley of Carnage. 1 MP less, but much faster! (Keep in mind, it was C rank.) I maxed out all my beginner classes in just a couple days that way. No one was running it! I was very surprised, since it was so good for MP at the time. Everyone was still at Plains Overlord, so they can’t say it’s a boredom thing. I was very lonely, playing that mission all alone. But I was also very determined, because I wanted to catch up to the people I played with, who were higher level and stronger than me.

I’m now grinding Scarred Planet… which is also rather quick, not bad for MP, and has a very good rate for Rappies. Where does the nostalgia kick in? Both Valley of Carnage and Scarred Planet have very washed-out colors, and are very dark… and very lonely-looking… They feel very much alike. The only difference between them in my view is that VoC looks like it’s a very cold place (though, didn’t they specifically say it was hot?) while SP looks very hot and humid. Either way, they’re both very lonely… but I still feel okay. That’s also something that links them. While they’re both lonely places, and I feel lonely in them, I also feel alright about it. Although.. I hope to not have to run this alone after I get the subscription.

I had 90k saved up until I decided to spend it on PAs. I don’t regret that decision either! But now I’m poor again. :( I think I’ll mostly spend it on PAs until I’ve got all I care to use at the moment. That means I probably won’t have any meseta even by the time the trial ends. Boohoo.

I’m also suddenly regretting my decision to make my beasts have the armor PMs. I thought armor would be easiest to boost. It is, if you have money! :( But I don’t. Waahh. I’ll probably spend my meseta on armor PM food if I have any left by the end of this. I think clothes are half off right now, right? So it’s a good time to buy that fodder.

I’ve been thinking this for the past few days, but kind of been reluctant to say anything. Something smells familiar lately. It’s a kind of stale smell, also kind of clean, I suppose. It’s very odd, because no one within the same general space as me can smell it. There’s been other smells like that as well, this is just one of them. Ghost smells are weird, huh… I don’t remember how my first log-in smelled.. but this is just very familiar somehow.

It’s kind of lonely, but I don’t expect to get friendly with people quite yet anyway. It’d be horrible to make friends and then have to leave them for a while because of the trial. So I guess I’m just getting settled in gameplay-wise.

A few things that I’m not so happy about so far!

Girls don’t have any tomboy voices, or at least deep ones. They have some “rough” ones and some “womanly” ones, but not deep and true tomboy! I want one that sounds almost like a boy, talking rashly and referring to themselves as “boku”! :( So sad.. And the soft ones sound borderline retarded instead of calm.

Boys don’t have any “cute” or “soft” voices. There’s some younger voices, but they’re all very squeaky and annoying. I want a soft and timid one! And a deep, scratchy one that doesn’t sound constipated. :( So sad..!

I also noticed that Vivienne is actually using a Vivienne… I guess Sega of America was just too shoddy to give her one! But I kind of don’t like that, because the weapon SoA substitutes it with gave a very nice effect… :( I wish Vivienne could inflict Sleep again!

Speaking of Vivienne.. I wish I could get my hair that color! Oh well. Um. I was very surprised! On the US servers, I’d been running it on A rank, since I was much higher level. It wasn’t easy, of course! But I completed it quite a few times. Here, I haven’t completed it on C once yet, and I’ve already got her on the second stage! It took me ages to get her like this on US! So surprised! And kind of sad, because now she doesn’t speak in katakana anymore… :( I can’t understand her anymore..! Please return to katakana, Vivienne! For this poor, stupid foreigner!

Oh! I also got tired of waiting for my friend’s friend to give me a ride… and I didn’t want to inconvenience anymore locals. (Not to mention none were online at the time..) So.. as a level 17 beast level 2 hunter with nothing but newbie gear (plus a B-rank twin saber I found..), I went through the route to the Casino alone with NPCs! It took me roughly 40 minutes to solo De Rol Le… I don’t ever want to do that again! But I also have a victory picture! Behold me, in all my lowbie glory!

Although my male newman still has to stay in the casino for a long time until my friend’s friend can give another character a ride there. >;( He’s gonna be so smelly by the time he gets to leave.

I also got a reply from the nice person who gave me a ride to the casino. He says he wishes to speak English one day. His English is better than my Japanese, so he’s bounds ahead of me in my quest to learn his language! Hehe. I hope we can become friends!

I’ve also bought some B-rank armor and a Me/HP Restore. I favor defense above all else, so I’m not unhappy with my decision to get armor, but I am a little angry that I didn’t think of a HP Restore unit before-hand. I now have two armors for element purposes, one of which does not have an extra slot! Boohoo. I also changed my handgun out for a GRM model (Free! Since I had a few left over from remaking my CAST to fit the right proportions) since the difference in ATP/ATA isn’t very big, but the difference in PP definitely is.

I’m definitely feeling the PA EXP boost, too. I’ve already got three skills at 11+! I’m actually kind of scared, since I’ll be upset if I cap them before I can leave Hunter. (By beginner job standards, of course.) Then I’ll go and buy the other PA for the weapons I have, and not have any meseta for other things. :< I’m getting nervous just thinking about it! Goodness, I wouldn’t have to worry if I just had the meseta from my original account. I wish I could have at least brought that along with me. I don’t make a very good poor person, especially when I’m in foreign territory.

Come to think of it, I could probably just grab one of my entrance 2 (I’ll be referring to the entrances as E1 and E2 from now on.) characters besides my newman and run Linear Line once or twice for enough meseta to go back to the casino.. so that I can give my newman that free makeover. Yes! I’ll do that tomorrow. Yeats, be a good beastie and get our poor shota some taxi money.

I’ll also not be moving my human male to E1, despite the casino coins. I won’t be playing on E2 for a very long time anyway, so I’ll probably get more than enough coins by the time I even bother with E2 at all. Hopefully by that time, I can get them some nice clothes. :( They all look so nerdy.

I’ve only got a little bit of time left, but I hope to be able to return without any problems. That is to say, I hope I can get my feet on the ground and be able to be a bit careless by the time I have to leave. It’s not any fun, having to be cautious all alone.
When I started out on the US servers, I could play with people without any worries whatsoever. But here, I’m still just so scared. While no one has been mean to me yet, I’m still very fearful for my ability to communicate with people here.
What if, even if I don’t care to try to speak with them and they’re fine with a silent foreigner playing with them, I take too long for their liking trying to restock and sell or pick up too much junk because I can’t read the name right away but may want it? I can read the names, it just takes me a while longer… and the US players were impatient about it when I was already speeding through as fast as I could with menus I could understand on first glance.. what if the JP players are just as impatient and can’t stand my slowness?! T_T
I’m so, so scared. Waaghhh…
But I’ll still try my best to get along with people…

So I started the 5 day trial… I was going to wait until I felt like playing a lot, so I could get a lot of things done. Oh wait.. why would I do that? Because it’ll actually be a bit before I can play for real. I refuse to give more money to Sega myself, since they could just off my account at any given time because I’m not a resident of Japan. So instead, a friend I had been planning to join there with before I found out about that little problem, will be paying for my account and his sometime in the future. Not sure when yet!

But um.. yes! So I started the 5 day trial actually 2 days ago. I was told last-minute that they were having an event with 10 silver casino coins per day… there were only 2 days left on that event, so at least I got 20 silver coins! … Sadly, I need 88 silver coins to get my rooms to how I want them, at least as far as casino items go. (Not counting music.) I had one character with a wedding-themed room, which had four Parman Benches.. I miss that room..! I hope to re-make it.

We had some problems, though. My copy of the game hadn’t finished downloading, and time was running out..! So I started the trial and let my friend on the account to get the coins. Sadly, his friend who gave him a ride to the casino wasn’t online… so he had to try and hitch a ride from the locals. One clearly saw him and ran the other way very quickly without a word..! I can’t bring myself to blame that person. We are strange foreigners invading their turf. But he did find a nice local who spoke a little English who gave him a ride. Thanks to psutools, I can copy his name down. Once again, a great big “thank you” to 犬飼　知三郎!
There is a downside to this tale, though. It was on a whim character, so I can’t delete that character right now..! Until my friend’s friend signs on and will give me a ride. … Also, I need to find out if casino coins are specific to one side of the account, like the common box AND CARDS *SEETH* are… If so, I need to move my human male over to the first entrance, since it’s his room that needs the benches.

I made all characters except my female newman so far, with all their heights absolutely perfect. I missed the chance to get the free makeovers, so I have to wait before giving them their hair. :( And of course, there’s many more important things than clothing, so they’ll all look like dorks for a while. Priorities, priorities!
But.. yes, since I made them all already, it’ll be a pain to move one to the other side. At least I haven’t done anything important on any of them besides my main, who is unrelated to that mess!
Moving the male over will also throw a wrench into my whole reasoning for having the girls together. Since my friend will be playing all males first, I was going to play all females first so we could balance out our luck. It wouldn’t be a problem if the common box was shared on both sides of the account! But it isn’t, and I’m just starting out again, so I can’t have decent gear on both sides of the account. :( I have to be able to transfer one set of good gear all over the place for a long time.

I’m going to bed after I finish typing this. My first day was short, and my progress was mostly getting the heights right. I got to level 5, and got my PM to level 6 from all the clothes I saved from all the times I had to remake my characters to get their heights right. I’ll start feeding the other PMs when I know what I’m doing.
I didn’t meet anyone yet, since it’s not a good time to play right now in Japan. (It’s about midnight. People are sleeping, they are busy!)

I’m still very scared about encountering someone, even though I’m very social in online games… because I’m just so scared they’ll hate me. :( I know I dislike it when a foreigner who doesn’t speak the native language appears, though I have played with them before and tried my best to be as friendly as I could without words. But I’ve just heard such bad horror stories of hatred towards foreigners in Japan… And there are trolls who are reporting foreigners, because they don’t like us invading their space. I can’t blame them, but at the same time, I’d be more sympathetic in this kind of time. One of our servers is being shut down, and the Japanese servers have the longest life, so it makes sense we’d go there, right? I’m sure our servers would have welcomed “refugees” with open arms. I know the 360 US/EU servers definitely are, but then again, “refugees” fleeing over there aren’t foreigners…

I guess my adventures will be cut short soon, though. My trial ends very soon, but I’m not too sad. I thought I’d be very sad and distressed about starting all over. I mean, it is kind of distressing that all of my good things are gone.. T_T I will sorely miss my Serafi-senbas and my awesome units that I spent weeks hunting in events… (How much drama was caused by Guld&Milla, I’ll never forget!!)

Ah, but.. despite my worries and fears, I do hold high hopes to meet up with other English-speaking players who have come from the dying servers, so we can help each-other out. I also hope to meet some friendly locals who know some English. (Isn’t English a mandatory class in Japan? I heard it was, but since they don’t get to use it, it deteriorates into nothing, so they might as well have not taken the class.) Hopefully I can better my Japanese this way, too! I hardly know any, so a friendly and bilingual local will be a gift from Heaven..!
